【8度ホテル】～60歳からの香港旅～

The 11th dayーNovember 20th (Tuesday) 2018　　

１１日目―２０１８年１１月２０日（火）

We stayed for 10 nights in Hong Kong.

　　For 9 nights at Hotel Citadines Ashley in Tsim Sha Tsui

　　and just for 1 night at Hotel Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees in Tokwawan.

私たちは香港に全部で１０泊しました。

９泊は尖沙咀にあるホテル　シタディーヌアシュリー、

　　　そして最後の１泊だけは、土瓜湾にあるハーバープラザ８ディグリーズに泊まりました。

Hotel 8 Degrees is an inconvenient location,

so we can go there by free shuttle bus

in front of Hotel Kowloon in Tsim Sha Tsui.,

８度ホテルは不便なところにあるので、

尖沙咀の九龍ホテル前から

無料シャトルバスに乗って行くことができます。

Lots of people of tour group

from Chinese Mainland

got on the bus

one after another.

たくさんの中国本土からの団体ツアーの人たちが

次から次へと観光バスに乗っていきました。

It was interesting

that emergency exit was written

太平門 in Chinese.

バスの非常口は中国語で

”太平門”と書いてあったのが面白かったです。

We got on the free shuttle bus

of Hotel 8 Degrees at 9:35 a.m.

午前９時３５分に８度ホテルの

無料シャトルバスに乗りました。

We arrived at Hotel 8 Degrees at 9:50 a.m.

It took about 15 minutes from Tsim Sha Tsui.

９時５０分に８度ホテルに到着しました。

尖沙咀から１５分くらいでした。

Why is the hotel's name 8 Degrees ?

どうしてホテルの名前が８度なんでしょうか？

In the past, there was Kai Tak Airport

near the hotel.

昔、このホテルのすぐ近くに啓徳空港がありました。

Take-off angle was 8 degrees.

飛行機が飛び立つ時の離陸角度が８度でした。

8 is a lucky number in Hong Kong,

so the hotel was named 8 Degrees

after the angle.

中国では８は縁起のいい数字のため、

その角度をホテルの名前にしたのです。

Kai Tak Airport was famous

for its most dangerous airport in the world,

but it moved to Lantau Island

more than 20 years ago.

啓徳空港は世界一危険な空港として

有名でしたが、２０年以上前に

ランタオ島に移転しました。

This unique design is used

in the front desk, pillars, stairs,

elevator doors and so on.

このユニークなデザインは、ロビーのフロントデスクや

柱、階段、エレベーターのドアなどに使われています。

They are not leaning really,

they look like leaning

by the optical illusion.

本当に傾いているのではなく、

目の錯覚によって傾いて見えるのです。。

I saw them with my own eyes,

but I didn't feel

it was the optical illusion.

私は自分の目で見てみて、

これが目の錯覚とは感じられませんでした。

It was not in financial difficulties..

経営は傾いていないんですね（笑）。

This floor is three-dimensional design.

立体的なデザインの床です。

I was feeling sick to see it.

見ていると気持ち悪くなりました。

Phew, I felt releaved.

The room was not leaning.

あ～安心しました。

部屋は傾いていませんでした。

The room had a fridge,

I didn't read it by Internet information.

ネット上の情報には出ていませんでしたが

冷蔵庫がありました。

It's been a long time

since I soaked in the nice long hot bath

久しぶりにゆっくりお風呂に浸かりました。

I'm Japanese, after all.

やはり日本人です。

It was written in Japanese,too.

日本語でも書かれてありました。

We went to Kowloon Walled City Park on foot.

I asked a few persons, "Excuse me,

　　　Could you tell me how to get to Kowloon Walled City Park?" in Cantonese.　　

九龍城塞公園へ歩いて行きました。

広東語で「九龍城塞公園はどこですか？」と２～３人の人にききながら行きました。

　　　　"ン・ゴーイ。九龍城塞公園　ハイビンドウ？”

We passed the park.

公園を通りかかりました。

She was doing Tai Chi.

太極拳をしていました。

This is Caution sign board in the park.

公園にあった看板です。

「公園内で洗濯物を干してはいけません」

Who hangs out the laundry in the park ?

誰が公園で洗濯ものを干すんでしょうか？（笑）

This is a Fire Station.

消防署です。

It's red color in universal.

万国共通で消防署は赤色ですね。

This looked like a repair workshop

of waterworks and electrical equipment.

水道と電気の修理屋さんのようでした。

牙医　means dentist in Chinese(Cantonese).

牙医　つまり歯医者さんです。

I like this Chinese.

この中国語が好きです。

Dragon planters were typical Chinese.

龍のプランターがいかにも中国的でした。

We passed through

the tunnel(subway)　written 隊道.

隊道と書かれてあるトンネルをくぐりました。

I saw an illustration in the tunnel by chance.

トンネル内で偶然イラストを見ました。

Hong Kong International Airport

moved to Lantau Island in 1998,

but before that

it was so dangerous place.

１９９８年に香港国際空港はランタオ島に

移転しましたが、それ以前は

大変危険な場所にありました。

When Kai Tak Airport was around here,

airplanes were flying

just above the houses.

啓徳空港がこの辺りにあった頃は

家のすぐ上を飛行機が飛んでいました。

In those days,

Kai Tak Airport was

the most difficult airport to landing

in the world.

当時、啓徳空港は世界一着陸が

むずかしい空港でした。

Why was the Kai Tak Airport difficult for pilot to landing ?

啓徳空港はなぜ、パイロットにとって着陸がむずかしかったのでしょうか？

Because there was a mountain called Lion Rock before the airport runway.

それは空港滑走路の手前に獅子山という山があったからです。

Pilot had to operate toward the mountain at a right angle,

turn right suddenly just before crash

and fly toward the runway.

パイロットは滑走路とほぼ直角の角度でこの山に突入し、

ぶつかる直前で右に急旋回して、滑走路に向かわなければなりませんでした。

When our English teacher went to Hong Kong in 1993,

there was Kai Tak Airport, so he had an exiting landing experence.

私たちの英語の先生が１９９３年に香港に行った時には、啓徳空港がありましたから、

先生はエキサイティングな着陸を経験しました。

We were going to exit the subway.

地上に出ます。

This is a clothes repair shop.

洋服の直し屋さんです。

I saw Shanghai Crab s

at this shop for the first time.

私はこの店で上海蟹を初めて見ました。

I had seen it on line,

but it was the first time for me

to see the real Shanghai Crab.

ネットでは見たことがありましたが、

実物の上海蟹は初めてでした。

According to T-chan,

if the crab moves freely,

it's legs are break ,

so it's binded with string.

Ｔちゃんによると、

動き回ると足が折れたりするので

ひもで縛られるそうです。

In Japan, we boil it in the hot salt water,

but in China,they steam it

while binding with string.

日本では塩を入れたお湯で茹でますが、

中国ではひもで縛ったままの状態で蒸します。

Crab cool down the body in Chinese medicine,

so they eat it

with black vinegar and ginger

to warm up the body.

中国医学の考え方では蟹は体を冷やすので、

体を温める黒酢や生姜と一緒に食べるそうです。

We call "Shanghai Crab"in Japan,

but it's called 大閘蟹 in Hong Kong.

私たちは日本で「上海蟹」と呼んでいますが、

香港では大閘蟹（ダージャーシェ）と

呼ばれているようです。

Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou City is famous

for its Shanghai Crab.

蘇州市の陽澄湖（ようちょうこ）は

上海蟹の産地として有名です。

The crab from Yangcheng Lake is

sold at a high price.

この陽澄湖産のカニは

高値で取引されます。

So there are fake labeling

of Yangcheng Crab often.

だから陽澄湖産のカニの産地偽装が

たびたびあります。

Japan, too.

日本と同じです。

九龍城塞公園→

We got there at 11:20 a.m.

１１時２０分に九龍城塞公園に着きました。

It took about 1 hour for us

to walk leisurely from Hotel 8 degrees.

８度ホテルからのんびり歩いて約１時間でした。

We had an early lunch at Aeon close to the park.

公園のすぐそばのイオンで早めの昼食をとりました。

That is well-known Aeon Mark

for Japanese.

日本人にはお馴染みのイオンマークです。

Sweet-and-Sour Pork looked tasty.

酢豚が美味しそうでした。

"NO MSG ADDED"

「味の素は使用していません」

MSG means Mono Sodium Glutamate

called "AJInomoto" in Japanese.

MSGとはグルタミン酸ナトリウム、

日本語で”味の素”と呼ばれています。

堂食ー食堂で食べる人はこちらから。

外売ーお持ち帰りもできます。

I'm not good at eating garlic,

so I asked the staff,

"Without garlic, please."

writing on the small paper in Cantonese.

私はニンニクが苦手なので、

「ニンニク抜きでお願いします」

と広東語でメモに書いて頼みました。

It tasted too sweet,

but the pork was so delicious.

ちょっと甘過ぎましたが、とても美味しい豚肉でした。

We had to clean up our table by ourselves.

後片付けはセルフサービスでした。

We bought Blueberry cheese cake

and coffee at the STARBUCKS

for dessert.

デザートにスターバックスで

ブルーベリーチーズケーキとコーヒー

を買いました。

We took a walk in the Kowloon Walled City Park.

九龍城塞公園内を散歩しました。

We had a cake and coffee

at the small arbor.

東屋みたいな休憩所があったので、

ここでケーキとコーヒーを食べました。

Look at the square pattern

on the table.

このテーブルの四角の模様を見て下さい。

It's for Chinese chess called Xiangqi.

これ、中国チェス　シャンチーで遊ぶための

四角らしいんです。

Lots of people gathered there.

たくさんの人が集まっていました。

What are they doing ?

何をしているのでしょうか？

They were playing Xiangqi.

シャンチーをしていました。

They looked happy.

楽しそうでした。

In Japan we are not playing

Japanese chess called Shogi

at the arbor, aren't we ?

日本だったら、東屋で将棋をさしませんよね。

Qing Dynasty built a fort

to protect around here in the 17th century.

１７世紀、清朝はこの辺りを守るために

砦（とりで）を築きました。

But Britain leased there in the 19th century,

then it became a political black zone.

しかし１９世紀末、イギリスがこの一帯を租借すると

政治的な空白地帯となりました。

After the Second World War,

lots of displaced people came there

escaped from Chinese Civil War.

第２次大戦後、中国の内戦から逃れた難民が

ここに大挙して押し寄せました。

Every buildings were torn down,

but only old wall was remained.

建物は全部壊されましたが古い壁は残されています。

I picked up a piece of the wall there.

私はその壁のかけらをそこで拾いました。

蜜蜂に注意

小心 means beware.

OK, I remembered.

小心とは”注意”です…覚えました。

We passed through the Chinese

beautiful round-shaped tunnel.

中華的な美しい丸い形のトンネルをくぐりました。

There was a small shop in the park.

公園内に小さな売店がありました。

I like the display of the potato chips.

このポテトチップスのディスプレイが好きです。

They were turning round and round.

クルクル回っていました。

This is an original use of clothespin.

洗濯干しのユニークな使い方です。

This toys brought back memories.

このおもちゃ懐かしいなぁ。

I wanted to blow it ,

I bought it.

吹いてみたくなってこれを買いました。

It costed 10HK＄each.

１個１０香港ドル（１５０円）でした。

It's called "Fukiage Paipu"

in Japanese.

日本語では”吹き上げパイプ”と言います。

I was happy

that the ball was floating in the air

even if I get older.

ボールが空中に浮かぶというのは

年をとってもうれしいものでした。

They sold not only souvenir

but also garlic.

このお店には土産品だけでなく、

ニンニクまで売られていました。

Garlic from New Territories were

4 for 10HK＄.

新界産のニンニクが４つで１０香港ドルでした。

Vegetables from New Territories are popular ?

新界の野菜は人気があるのでしょうか。

There was a small-sized model of

the Kowloon Walled City.

九龍城塞の縮小模型がありました。

I thought it looked like "Gunkanjima"in Japan.

日本の軍艦島と似ていると思いました。

Gunkanjima in Japan

About 50000 people lived

in the half of the Tokyo Dome.

東京ドームの半分の大きさのところに

５万人が住んでいました。

It had school,hospital and nursing home inside.

内部には、学校・病院・老人ホームまでありました。

It was called "Den of Oriental"

and "Den of Crime".

”東洋の魔窟””犯罪の巣窟”と呼ばれていました。

The demolition work conpleted

before Hong Kong was returned

from Britain to China in 1994

香港がイギリスから中国に返還される

前の１９９４年に取り壊しが完了しました。

九龍城塞の子どもたちの昔の写真です。

When they went up to the rooftop,

they saw the plane flying right above them.

屋上に上るとすぐ真上に飛行機が飛んで

いくのが見えたそうです。

牙科、牙科、牙科……。

歯医者街でした。

I watched the video about

an ex-resident of Kowloon City.

元九龍城塞の住民のビデオを見ました。

He said,

"It looked scary from outside,

but it was good place for us

that we lived by helping each other

even poor."

外から見ると九龍城塞は怖いところに見えますが、

その中に住んでいた私達にとっては

貧しくてもみんなで助け合って暮らしていた場所でした。

Resident made a neighborhood watchmen

and improved the security

because it was the black zone(no police).

空白地帯（警察が入ってこない所）だったので、

住民たちは自警団を結成して治安を改善しました。

This man is an shopkeeper

of the tea-leaves-shop

near Kowloon City.

この人は九龍城塞のそばの

お茶屋さんのご主人です。

I watched the TV program the other day

about Kowloon Walled City.

先日、九龍城塞についてのテレビ番組を見ました。

He smuggled himself into Hong Kong

from China when he was 19 year's old

about 50 years ago.

彼は５０年くらい前、

１９歳の時に大陸から密入国しました。

He came over some mountains

for 6 days.

６日間もかけて山を越えてきました。

Resident of Kowloon City were

customers of his shop.

九龍城塞の住人はこの店のお客さんでした。

His last words were impressive to me,

"It's for getting dish"

"食飯 "　in Cantonese.

彼の最後の言葉が印象的でした。

「セッファーン」　　「食べていくためだよ。」

I saw a man who was doing Tai Chi

on such an unstable place.

こんな不安定な所で

太極拳をしている男性を見ました。

Be careful !

危ない!

This is a beautiful Chinese restroom.

It was clean inside, too.

美しい中国建築のトイレです。

中も清潔でした。

We were tired, so we took a taxi to Hotel 8 degrees.

帰りは疲れたので、８度ホテルまでタクシーで帰りました。

I told the driver,

"Could you take us to Hotel 8 degrees?"

in Cantonese.

「ンゴイホイ　ホテル　エイトディグリーズ」

「8度ホテルまでお願いします」と

広東語で言いました。

The base fare for a taxi was 24HK＄.

初乗り料金は２４香港ドルでした。

It took about 10 minutes

from Kowloon City Park to the hotel

by taxi.

九龍城塞公園からホテルまでタクシーで約１０分。

It costed 30HK＄.

３０香港ドル（４５０円）でした。

There was a time table of

free shuttle bus to Kowloon Station ,

so we checked it

九龍駅行き無料シャトルバスの時刻表が

あったので確認しました。

Hotel 8:45a.m.ーKowloon Station9:10a.m.

or　　　9:35-10:10

ホテル８：４５ー九龍駅９：１０

ホテル９：３５－九龍駅１０：１０

Around the hotel was not

sightseeing spot.

８度ホテル周辺は観光スポットではありません。

They sold bananas by weight

unlike Japan..

バナナは日本と違って計り売りでした。

They sold big grapes and mini-tomato

by weight, too.

巨峰ぶどうとミニトマトも計り売りでした。

When I asked her,

"May I have a receipt ?"in Cantonese,

she wrote it

while saying "Receipt, receipt, receipt"

in Cantonese.

「領収書サウゴイを下さい」と言ったら、広東語で

「サウゴイ　サウゴイ　サウゴイ」といいながら

領収書を書いてくれました。

Shops around here will be brought out

and move soon.

この辺はもうすぐ買収されてみんな引っ越すそうです。

The buildings became old and dangerous,

so the redevelopment plan

is progressing now.

建物が古くなって危険なので、

再開発の計画が進んでいるのです。

汽車 means Steam Locomotive in Japan,

but it means car in China,

so this shop sell Japanese cars.

汽車は日本では蒸気機関車のことですが、

中国では自動車のことなので、

このお店は日本車を販売しているんですね。

This is a hospital near the hotel.

ホテルの近所の病院です。

Chinese characters of section were interesting

～科の中国語漢字が面白かったです。

婦産科部 means OB-GYN

called 産婦人科 in Japanese.

婦産科部とは日本語で産婦人科のことです。

腫瘤中心 means Cancer Center.

腫瘤中心とはガンセンターのことです。

皮膚及激光中心 means Dermatology

and Laser phgotodynamic therapy.

皮膚及激光中心とは皮膚科

及びレーザー光線治療センターのことです。

腎科中心 means Renal dialysis center

called　透析センター？

腎科中心とは腎臓センター（透析センター)

のことでしょうか？

I bought this fresh spring roll

at the convenience store.

生春巻きをコンビニで買いました。

We didn't feel like eating out that day,

so we did home-meal replacement

in the hotel room.

外食する元気がなかったので、

ホテルの部屋で中食しました。

We bough mini-sized instant noodles

called "Demae Itcho"

出前一丁というインスタントラーメン

のミニサイズを買いました。

First we put the noodles in the coffee cup,

second put the hot water in it,

third wait for 3 minutes,

and it's ready.

コーヒーカップに入れてお湯を注いで

３分間待てば出来上がりです。

A diner named ”唐人坊”was introduced

on the TV-program

about Hong Kong last year.

去年、香港についてのテレビで

”唐人坊”という大衆食堂が紹介されていました。

The shopkeeper loves Demae Itcho.

この食堂の店主さんは出前一丁が大好きです。

It was difficult for him

to eat Japanese noodles for poverty

in his childhood.

彼は子どもの頃、貧乏で日本のラーメンは

なかなか食べられませんでした。

He made his dreams

that he runs a diner of Demae Itcho,

come true.

昔あこがれた出前一丁のお店を

出すという夢をかなえた店主さんです。

出前一丁のスーツケース・ウォーターサーバーなど

出前一丁グッズのコレクションがあります。

Actually I wanted to go there,

but I couldn't go there

because I was tired.

実は私はそこに行きたかったのですが、

疲れてしまって行けませんでした。
