Good, but today is the last lesson. I'll miss it and I'll be/feel lonely.
はい、元気なんですが、今日は最後のレッスンです。 寂しくなります。
I'm going to pick up and talk about our trip to the UK today.
今日はイギリス旅行についてピックアップして話そうと思います。
It was the the second day after arriving in the UK.
イギリスに着いて二日目のことでした。
When I bought the tickets of (/for) the Tower of London, 　　I found a (the) word "concession"on the price list.
ロンドン塔のチケットを買った時に、 　　私は価格表にコンセッションということばを見つけました。
I asked the staff, "Excuse me, 　　what is the meaning of concession ?"
私は係りの人にたずねました 　　「すみません、コンセッションの意味は何ですか？」
She answered, "It means discount price for students, 　　senior citizens and handycapped people."
彼女は答えました「コンセッションは学生や高齢者や障害者のための 　　割引料金という意味です。」
I thought in my mind, 　　"Oh, darn it !　We are senior citizens. 　　　I didn't notice it yesterday !, 　　　so, we wasted ended up wasting money !"
私は心の中で思いました 　　「しまった！　私たちは高齢者だ。 　　昨日はそれに気づかなかったから結局お金を無駄にしてしまった！」
●end up 　-ing 　　　　最終的に（結局）?することになる
In the Tower of London, 　　the fee after concession fee was 　　£5.5(five and a half pounds-about 800 yen) 　　cheaper than the adult fee per one person.
ロンドン塔では、割引後の料金は大人料金よりも 　　1人当たり５．５ポンド（約８００円）安かったです。
●the fee after -　　　−後の料金
We lost more than 2000 yen the day before. We only went to 3 museums 　　due to the rain (rainy) wether.
その前の日、私たちは２０００円以上損しました。 雨だったので、３つの博物館に行ったんです。
If it was written as "discount price," 　　I was supposed to know it.  　　I would have known it.
もし「ディスカウント料金」と書いてあったら、わかったはずです。 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　わかったのに。
●I would have 過去分詞　　　　−していたのに 　I would not have 　過去分詞　　　−しなかったのに（否定パターン） 　　　　見慣れない英語表現だが、ネイティブはよく使う表現 　　　　自分が全部のお湯を使っていたということを知っていたら、お風呂に入らなかったのに。 　　　　　　　I would not have any baths. 　　　　 あなたがそれを秘密にしておきたいと知っていたら、誰にも言わなかったのに。 　　　　　　　　I wouldn’t have told anyone.（否定パターン） 　　　　　あなたが来ると知っていたら、迎えに行ったのに。 　　　 　　　　I　would have picked you up. 　　　　　お腹が空いていると知っていたら、何か作ってあげたのに 　　　　　　　I would have made you something.
I think it's strategy.

The first day, I didn't notice it, because I was nervous.
一日目にそれに気づかなかったのは、緊張していたからなんですよね。
The meaning of concession is discount price 　　was not written anywhere in the travel guide book 　　nor on line information. I think guide book should write about it.
コンセッションが割引料金という意味であることは、 　　旅行ガイドブックやネット情報のどこにも書いてありませんでした。 ガイドブックはそのことについて書くべきだと私は思います。
It was good to find it in the second day 　　of the 2 weeks travel period, anyway.
とりあえず、２週間の旅行期間のうちの２日目に 　　そのことがわかってよかったですけど。
The chime rings at 6 o'clock every evening in my town. The melody is "Westminster Chimes"of Big Ben. It rings like "Ding Dong Ding Dong." 　　"Kinkon kankon Kinkon kankon"in Japanese. It informs children of the time going (to go) back home.
私の住んでいる町では、毎夕方６時になるとチャイムが鳴ります。 そのメロディーはビッグベンの「ウェストミンスターの鐘」です。  「キ-ンコ-ンカ-ンコ-ン」です。 そのチャイムは子どもたちに家に帰る時間を知らせています。
●人にーを知らせる　　　　　　inform 人　of ー
In Japan, the chime is used at many schools, 　　companies, chimes in parks and so on.
日本では、このチャイムは多くの学校や会社、 　　公園のチャイムなどに使われています。
When I went to the Big Ben, I heard the chime, 　　so I looked it up after going back to Japan, 　　I found it the chime of the Big Ben.
私はビッグベンに行った時に、このチャイムを聞いて 　　日本に帰ってから調べたら、 　　それがビッグベンのチャイムだとわかりました。
So my town's chime reminds me of the beautiful Big Ben.
だから私の町のチャイムは美しいビッグベンを思い出させてくれます。
"Cafe in the Crypt" was located 　　north east of Trafalgar Square 　　and in the basement of St, Martin's Church.
墓石食堂はトラファルガー広場の北東に位置し、 　　セントマーチン教会の地下にありました。
This picture is a sign board at the entrance 　　of the elevator (British English-lift) to the cafe.
この写真は、その墓石食堂へのエレベーターの入り口の案内板です。
I was impressed by the board. 　　Five reasons for taking the stairs. 　　1.Only 20 steps. 　　2.Good exercise. 　　3.It's much quicker 　　4.Saves energy 　　5.Those who really need to use the lift 　　　　　would appreciate you doing so.
私はこの案内板に感心しました。 　　階段を使った方がいい５つの理由 　　１　　たったの２０段です。 　　２　　いい運動になります。 　　３　　その方が早いです。 　　４　　エネルギーの節約になります。 　　５　　本当にエレベーターを必要としている人に感謝されます。

先生は王立裁判所に行ったことがありますか？
Yeah, but only the outside.

I was curious about trial in the UK.
私はイギリスの裁判に興味がありました。
But it was not from intellectual curiosity, 　　it was from a childish one.

You know, in the UK, judges, lawyers and prosecutors 　　have a custom of wearing wigs like Bach or Mozalt.
先生もご存知のように、イギリスでは裁判官、弁護士、検事が 　　バッハやモーツアルトのようなかつらをかぶる習慣がありますよね。
I almost didn't catch the English, 　　so I just looked at their faces wearing wigs.
私はほとんどその英語を聞き取れなかったので、 　　かつらをかぶった彼らの顔ばかり見ていました。
To be honest, I kept a straight face.
正直言って、私は笑いをこらえていました。
I thought "Even if they are cool, 　　wearing a wig faces were funny. 　　　　wearing a wig makes the faces look funny.
どんなにかっこよくても、かつらをかぶった顔は滑稽だと思いました。 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　かつらをかぶることは顔を変に見せる
It was funny that they sometimes corrected the wigs 　　from slipping out (off) their heads.
彼らが時々、かつらのずれを直したのも面白かったです。
What a bad audience member of the trial 　　I was (/must have been) !
私は何て悪い傍聴人でしょうか！
Thanks to the explanation of my daughter, 　　I understood them a little, 　　but she fell a sleep from the middle, 　　so I couldn't understand the English at all.
娘の説明のおかげで、私は裁判の様子が少しだけわかりましたが、 　　途中から彼女は居眠りしてしまったので、 　　私は英語が全然わかりませんでした。
Trial words are difficult.
裁判用語はむずかしいです。
Yeah, if I watch Japanese news about politics, 　　it's difficult, just listening is too difficult 　　without dictionary.
ええ、政治についての日本のニュースを見るのは難しいです、 　　辞書なしでただ聞くのは難し過ぎます。
I had joined an English group lesson for 6 years 　　before coming here.
私はここに来る前の６年間、グループレッスンに参加していました。
There were some good points of the group lesson, 　　but the bad point was 　　 that I couldn't speak in all English for 2 hours.
グループレッスンの長所はいろいろありましたが、 　　短所は２時間全部英語で話せなかったことでした。
In the group lesson, we talked in English first, 　　but before I knew it, 　　we always started to talked in Japanese.
グループレッスンでは、 　　最初は英語で話していても、いつのまにか日本語で話していました。
I wanted to speak in English as much as possible, 　　but everyone talked happily in Japanese, 　　so I hesitated to speak only in English.
私はなるべく英語で話したかったのですが、みんなが日本語で楽しく 　　話しているのに、英語だけで話すのを遠慮しました。
It's embarrassing to speak the wrong English 　　for most Japanese people, 　　so they become end up just 　　to speak (speaking) Japanese, I think.
ほとんどの日本人にとって、間違った英語を話すのは恥ずかしいので、 　　結局のところ日本語をしゃべってしまうことになると私は思います。
●end up ーing　　最終的に（結局のところ）ーすることになる
In my experience, making mistakes is important. When I spoke wrong English, 　　it was deeply input into my head. Failure is the stepping-stone to success.
私の経験から言えば、間違うことは大切です。 私は間違った英語を話した時、 　　そのことは頭に深くインプットされました。 失敗は成功のもとです。
My eldest daughter told me, 　　"Even if other people speak in Japanese, 　　you shoud speak in English without hesitation."
私の長女は私に「たとえ他の人が日本語で話していても、 　　遠慮しないで堂々と英語で話すべきだよ。」と言いました。
She studied English at the English conversation school 　　in Australia for a month in the past.
彼女は昔、１か月間オーストラリアの英会話学校で英語の勉強をしました。
During the break time, 　　only Japanese students gathered 　　and talked in Japanese, 　　but only my daughter talked in English 　　among the Japanese students.
休み時間になると、日本人だけで集まって日本語でおしゃべりしていましたが、 　　娘だけは日本人学生の中で、英語でおしゃべりしたそうです。
She has a very strong will.
彼女はとても強い意志の持ち主ですね。
Yeah, yeah. One of the school students came to our home 　　 in Kanazawa and she said in surprise, 　　"Can you speak Japanese ? 　　you didn't speak Japanese at all in Australia, 　　so I thought you can't speak Japanese."
そうですね。 その学校の学生の一人が金沢の私たちの家に来た時に驚いて言いました。 　　「Ａさんって、日本語話せるの？　 　　オーストラリアで一言も日本語を話さなかったから、 　　日本語が話せないと思っていた。」
I have tried to talk in English here as much as possible, 　　but it was difficult to speak in English 　　what I wanted to say.
私はここでなるべく英語で話そうとしてきましたが、 　　自分の言いたいことを英語で話すのはむずかしかったです。
I have been in a hurry 　　because I wanted to say it soon (quickly), 　　so I often just line up English words 　　not making sentences.
自分の思ったことを早く言いたいので、焦ってしまい、 　　文章を組み立てずに、単語を並べただけのこともよくありました。
I think I'll say subjects and predicates clearly 　　and I'll try to speak English properly from now on.
これからは、主語と述語をはっきりと言って、 　　きちんとした英語を話すように心がけたいと思います。
If I try to speak Japanese quickly, 　　I forget "wa""ga" "ni" "o" "e."
私は日本語を速く話そうとすると、「は」「が」「に」「を」「へ」を忘れますよ。

Tea first, of course. Milk first sounds wrong to me.
もちろん、紅茶を先に入れる派です。 ミルクを先に入れるのは私には間違っているように聞こえます。
The old British man is a milk first person.
その高齢のイギリス男性はミルクを先に入れる派です。
I think it has to be tea first 　　because you want the boiling water 　　to boil the tea leaves a little.
私は紅茶を先に入れなければならないと思います 　　なぜならば、 沸騰させたお湯で茶葉を沸騰させたいからです。
I put the tea bag in first, wait 20　30 seconds 　　and then add milk.
私はまずティーバッグを置いて、２０〜３０秒してから、ミルクを加えます。
The other way round sounds like 　　the tea leaves don't boil properly. Sounds weird.
