【香港に出発！】～60歳からの香港旅～

The first day and second dayーNovember 10th(Saturday)＆11th (Sunday) 2018

１日目と２日目―２０１８年１１月１０日（土）と１１日（日）

We went to Kanazawa Station from our home

by taxi at 8:00 a.m. the 10th November,

then we went to Komatsu Airport by limousine bus.

１１月１０日の午前８時に私たちは自宅を出発してタクシーで金沢駅に行き、

リムジンバス（９時発）に乗って、小松空港に行きました。

This is "YUTARO POST"

that the symbol of Kanazawa Station.

これは金沢駅のシンボルの”郵太郎ポスト”です。

Actually he is 64 years old now , in my age.

実は郵太郎は現在、６４歳で、私と同い年です。

It has been used as meeting place

since a long time ago

昔から待ち合わせの場所として使われてきました。

"I'm going to Hong Kong , YUTARO! "

「郵太郎くん、香港に行ってきま～す。」

Then the plane to Haneda Airport Tokyo (ANA) left 15 minutes behind schedule,

but it arrived Haneda at 11:40 on time.

そして東京羽田空港行きの飛行機（ＡＮＡ全日空）は、定刻よりも１５分遅れて出発しましたが、

定刻の１１時４０分に羽田に着きました。

At the restaurant inside Haneda Airport, my husband told me,

"Let's eat Soba noodles because we are going to leave Japan for a while,

　　shall we ?"

I thought "Oh, he is a tipical Japanese after all."

羽田空港内のレストランで、「しばらくの間、日本を離れるから最後にそばを食べよう。」と夫が言うので、

私は「あ～やっぱり典型的な日本人だ～。」と思いました。

梅おろしそば（８５０円）×２

羽田空港内の蕎麦屋”門左衛門”で

●大根は英語で？

　　　　単にradish だけでは、赤くて丸い形の二十日大根を意味するので、Japanese white radish　と呼ばれる

　　　　また最近の日本食ブームで、daikon　と表記して売られていることもあるそうです。

●すりおろす　　　　grate

　　　　grated　はその過去分詞なので、すりおろされた　　という意味になる

By the way, I found a specialty shop of Egg tart inside Haneda Airport by chance.

We had never had Egg tart before.

We were going to eat Egg tart in Macau, the home of Portugal Egg tart.

　　we tried to eat Egg tart first in Japan.

ところで、私は羽田空港内にエッグタルトの専門店があるのを偶然見つけました。

私たちはエッグタルトをそれまで一度も食べたことがなかったんです。

私たちはマカオで本場ポルトガルのエッグタルトを食べようと思っていましたが、

　　まず日本でエッグタルトを食べてみることにしました。

The name of the shop is "EGG CELENT BITES".

そのお店の名前は”エッグセレントバイツ”です。

Left side are plain egg tarts.

左がプレーンなエッグタルトです。

We went to eat it twice because it's so delicious.

they were just baked both of them.

あんまり美味しくて２回食べに行きましたが、

２回とも焼きたてでした。

I thought that I could have more tasty egg tart

in Makau than here.

マカオでここよりもっと美味しいエッグタルトを

食べられるかな～と私は思いました。

Right side are star mark egg tarts

including powder sugar and cinnamon.

右が粉砂糖とシナモン入りの

スターマークエッグタルトです。

It became my husband's favorite sweets.

こちらは夫の大のお気に入りになったようです。

He said, "I have never had

such a delicious sweets before."

こんなに美味しいお菓子を食べたことがないそうです。

He is exaggerating !

I thought "Today(the 11th November) is the day that we fly to Hong Kong."

We got on the 8:55 plane to Hong Kong.

さあ、今日（１１月11日）は、いよいよ香港に飛び立つ日だ～と私は思いました。

私たちは、８時５５分発の香港行きの飛行機に乗りました。

Today is the day.　直訳すると「今日がまさにその日だ。」

「ついに今日が来た。待ちに待った日だ」

The time difference between Japan

and Hong Kong is just 1 hour.

日本と香港の時差はたったの１時間です。

Oh, the mountain over there is perhaps …….

あれれ、向こうの方のお山はもしかして……。

My seat was the right side facing forward ,

so I could see Mt.Fuji clearly.

進行方向に向かって右側の席だったので、

きれいに富士山が見えました。

Mt.Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan,

It's famous for its the song of Fuji-no yama

♪With head above the clouds～♪

It is the same as the song.

♪あ～たまをく～も～のう～えに出～し♪　の歌で

有名な日本一高いお山ですが、

本当に歌の通りなんですね～。

I saw the whole mountain of Mt.Fuji

from plane in my life.

生まれて初めて富士山全体を飛行機から見ました。

I heard In-flight announcement in the order of Japanese, English, Cantonese.

I was glad to see just 2 Cantonese,

　　"Josan"(Good morning) and "Doshe"(Thank you).

It's fun to learn local language even for just a bit.

日本語ー英語ー広東語の順に機内放送（朝のあいさつ）を聞きました。

広東語のジョサン（お早うございます）とドーシェ（ありがとうございます）だけですが、

　　　わかったのがうれしかった。

やはり現地の言葉は少しだけでも覚えていくと楽しいものです。

The plane arrived at Hong Kong Airport

30 minutes earlier than scheduled.

飛行機は香港空港に定刻より３０分早く到着しました。

Hong Kong is in the Chinese language bloc

like Japan,

so it's useful that it's written

in Chinese characters.

香港は日本と同じ漢字文化圏なので、

漢字で書かれているのが便利ですね。

I found a telephone in the airport by chance.

"Menpi Denwa means Free-public phone ?" 　

私は偶然、空港の中で、ある電話を見つけました。

”免費電話（メンピ電話）って、無料の電話ということ？”　　

We didn't have mobile phone or smart phone

in Hong Kong,

so I tried to call by this free phone

to my second daughter living in Hong Kong.

私たちは携帯電話やスマホを持ってきていないので、

香港に住む娘（次女）に、この免費電話で

電話してみました。

But she didn't answer the phone.

しかし娘は電話に出ませんでした。

I asked her about it later,

"I didn't answer because the phone number

was suspicious number."

後で彼女に聞いてみたら、「その電話番号は

怪しいから出なかったよ。」と言われてしまいました。

For your information, we can't make

an international call by this phone.

参考までに、この電話では国際電話は出来ません。

First we bought "OCTOPUS CARD"

　　　that is very useful prepaid trandportation card in Hong Kong

　　　like Suica in Japan.

We can buy it only by cash.

It cost 150 HK＄ each including 50 HK＄ deposit.

I paid 2 100-HK＄ bills(that was exchanged in Japan)

　　　and got 50-HK＄ bill change.

まず私たちは、日本のスイカのような、香港のとても便利な交通カードのオクトパスカードを買いました。

オクトパスカードは現金でないと買えません。

１枚１５０香港ドルでしたが、このうち５０香港ドルは保証金です。

日本で両替してあった１００香港ドルを２枚（２００香港ドル）出して、５０香港ドルのおつりをもらいました。

We could buy the card at this ticket office.

このチケット売り場でオクトパスカードを買えました。

It's written 八達通 in Cantonese.

広東語で　”八達通”と書かれています。

It's desighned by number 8.

数字の８がデザインされています。

There are various design ,

but they are easy to distinguishable.

いろいろなデザインが

ありますが、区別しやすいです。

I saw "doshe"on guideboard in Cantonese

at the ticket office.

チケット売り場で広東語で　”多謝”　ドーシェと

書いてある案内板を見ました。。

You know,"She She" is Mandarine Chinese.

ご存知のように"謝謝"シェシェは中国標準語です。

Then, I was looking for the Add Machine, but I could not find it,

I asked the staff,

　　"Excuse me, Could you tell me where is the Add Machine to Octopus Card ?"

He answered me, "Add ?　The Add Machine is over there."

それからオクトパスカードに積み増しする機械を探しましたが、見つからないので、職員に尋ねました。

「すみません。オクトパスカードに積み増しする機械はどこでしょうか？」

「積み増し？　積み増し機なら、向こうにありますよ。」

We added 300 HK dollars to Octopus Card each .

私たちはそれぞれ３００香港ドルを積み増ししました。

We found the platform for Airport Express to city center soon.

But there were some sliding glass doors ,

　　　first we were not able to know what they are.

香港中心部へ行く特急列車のエアポートエクスプレスの乗り場はすぐにわかりました。

でも、そこにはガラス引き戸があって、それが何なのか最初、私たちはわかりませんでした。

Actually they are Platform screen doors.

実はこれはホームドア（安全ドア）なんです。

I didn't know them because Japanese

platform doors are lower than height of human.

日本のホームドアは

人間の背よりも低いので、わからなかったんですね。

The higher, the more expensive

背が高いほど、値段が高いんです。

We went to Kowloon Station from Airport by Airport Express.

私たちは、エアポートエクスプレスに乗って、空港から九龍駅まで行きました。

This is a free shuttle bus.

無料シャトルバスです。

Then we went to Tsim Sha Tsui

by free shuttle bus

そして九龍駅から　無料シャトルバスで

尖沙咀（チムサアチョイ）へ行きました。

I talked with a young lady next to me

from Korea in English.

バスの中では、お隣に座っていた

韓国の若い女性と英語で話しました。

She told me, "I'm not going to Victoria Peak

because of crowded place.

彼女は混雑するビクトリアピークには

行かないつもりだと私に言いました。

What a waste !

もったいな～い！

Kori-bako means suitcase, doesn't it ?

”行李箱”（こうり箱）はスーツケースのことですよね。

Most old Japanese were from China.

古い日本語はほとんど中国から来ていますね。

It was interesting for me

to see the difference and common point

between Chinese and Japanese in letters.

中国語と日本語の文字の違いと

共通点を見るのは面白かったです。

I saw this strange Japanese

from the bus window.

バスの窓からこんな変な日本語を見ました。

Actually this is a British fashion brand

"Superdry Kyoukudo kansou sinasai"

これは実はイギリスのファッションブランド

「Superdry 極度乾燥しなさい」です。

Mr.Julian Dunkerton, CEO of the company,

named "Superdry"

after Japanese beer "SuperDry".

現ＣＥＯのジュリアン・ダンカートンさんが

日本のビールのスーパードライから名付けました。

And he has used the Japanese on purpose

that Superdry was google translated

into Japanese as it is.

そしてSuperdryをグーグル翻訳にかけた

日本語をわざとそのまま使っています。

But why did he use the wrong Japanese

as the brand name?

しかし、なぜ彼は間違った日本語をブランド名として

使用するのでしょうか？

Because many wrong English in Japan

were impressive for him

なぜならば日本の間違った英語が

彼にとって印象的だったからです。

He thought that English ad in Japan

stay in our heart　all the better for wrong.

日本の広告は間違っているから

なお心に残ると彼は思いました。

We got off the free shuttle bus in front of

Hotel Holiday Inn in Tsim Sha Tsui.

私たちは尖沙咀（チムサアチョイ）のホテル

ホリディイン前で無料シャトルバスを降りました。

The bus didn't stop in front of our hotel

because it's not famous.

私達の泊まるホテルは有名ホテルではないので

停まらないのです。

We were looking for the hotel by the map printed on Google map.

私たちは、グーグルマップで印刷してきた地図で、ホテルを探しました。

Our hotel was sober.

私たちのホテルは地味でした。

The signboard was very small,

but we found it soon.

店の看板はとても小さかったのですが、

私たちはすぐにそれを見つけました。

The hotel was functional.

機能的なホテルでした。

Our room was on the 13th floor

that is the unlucky number in Western countries.

私たちの部屋は西洋では不吉な１３階でした。

There were the 4th or 14th floors

in the elevator in Japan.

日本のエレベーターでは４階や１４階はあります。

But they were not in Hong Kong

because 4 means death.

香港では死を意味するからか、ありませんでした。

It was important for us to keep

fruits and milk in the fridge

冷蔵庫で果物や牛乳を保存することは

私たちにとって大切なことでした。

The mini kitchen was useful

to wash fruits or dishes besides washroom.

洗面所とは別に果物やカップを洗う

ミニキッチンがあるのは便利でした。

　　　besides A　　　　Ａとは別に

beside A　　　　Ａのそばに

と混同しないように

I'm sure that the toilet water in our hotel

was seawater, because it was dirty.

私たちのホテルのトイレの水は

汚かったので、絶対に海水だと思います。

By the way, Washlet is Japanese English.

ところでウォッシュレットは和製英語です。

What is "Washlet" ?

ウォッシュレットとは？

There is a nozzle under the toilet seat.

Warm water comes out from the nozzle

to wash the bottom and front part.

便座の下にノズルがついており、

そこからお尻や前部を洗うお湯がでます。

Hong Kong is poor in water resources,

there are few rivers, lakes

and ground water,

so tap water is from some reservouirs

of rain water

and imported water from China.

香港は水資源に乏しく、

川や湖や地下水が少ないため、

水道の水は雨水をためてある貯水池の水と

中国から輸入している水です。

That's why, toilet water is usually

seawater in Hong Kong.

そういう訳で、香港では普通、

トイレの水は海水です。

They use special seawater-resistant pipe.

耐海水性の特殊なパイプを使っています。

According to TOTO,

toilet company in Japan,

the cause of

no spreading "Washlet"is seawater.

日本のトイレの会社のＴＯＴＯによると、

香港でウォッシュレットが

普及しにくい原因は海水にあるそうです。

Seawater makes slectrical system

of Washlet broken.

海水はウォッシュレットの

電気系統を壊してしまうのです。

In other words,

they have to devide into water washing bottom

and water washing the toilet

つまりお尻を洗う水と便器を洗う水とは

分けなければならないということなんですね。

in the other words　ではないので注意

This is a wall socket(outlet) in Hong Kong.

こちらが香港のコンセントです。

I used the changeable socket from Japan,

to BF style in Hong Kong.

日本から持ってきたオールマイティーのコンセントを

香港のＢＦスタイルに変化させて使いました。

I charged my camera right away.

私はさっそくカメラに充電しました。

The view from the window was not beautiful,

but I was interested in the buildings

that was torn down and kept at it is.

ホテルの窓からの風景は殺風景ではありましたが、

ビルが途中まで壊されて、

そのままになっているのが面白かったです。

Sofas and tables were weather beaten.

ソファーやテーブルが雨ざらしになっていました。

We promised to have restaurant dinner with our daughter and son-in-law,

so we went to their apartment on foot close to our hotel

after we unpacked everything.

娘夫婦とレストランへ夕食を食べに行く約束をしていたので、

私たちは荷解きをしてから、ホテルからすぐ近くの娘のマンションまで歩いて行きました。

We went to Admiralty Station from Tsim Sha Tsui Station by MTR(subway).

The reserved restaurant by my daughter was in Admiralty.

For your information, Admiralty means naval base.

I wonder there was a British naval base in Admiralty in the British colonial era?

私たちは、尖沙咀駅から地下鉄で、金鐘（アドミラリティー）駅まで行きました。

娘が予約したレストランは、金鐘にありました。

ちなみに、金鐘の英語名のアドミラリティーとは、海軍基地のことです。

イギリスの植民地時代に、海軍基地が金鐘にあったのかな？

This is Restaurant "Crystal Jade".

レストラン　”翡翠（ひすい）クリスタルジェイド”です。

They have a menu in Japanese.

こちらには日本語のメニューがあります。

This is a Big Shrimps with chili sauce.

特大海老の海老チリソースです。

I asked the server(waiter),

"Without garlic, please."

右の写真のウェイターさんに、

「ニンニク抜きでお願いします」と頼みました。

According to our son-in-law,

he is a rare kind server in Hong Kong..

娘の夫によると、彼は香港では

まれにみる親切なウエイターさんだそうです。

Thank you very much.

ありがとうございました。

It was sweet-and sour, spicy and so tasty.

甘酸っぱくてしかも辛くて、とても美味しかったです。

Elegant dark brown uniform looks good on him.

上品なこげ茶色の制服がよくお似合いですね。

These are Soup Dumpling

filled with meat and lots of soup inside.

これは小籠包（ショウロンポウ）です。

中に肉とたっぷりの肉汁が入っています。

While we are here in Hong Kong,

let's have it !

せっかく香港に来たからにはこれを食べよう！

On our way back to the hotel, we bought mango pudding at Kyoryuzan,

　　famous mango pudding shop.

It was our daughter's recommended mango pudding.

It cost 25 HK dollars (about 370 yean) each.

It was big size, then we shared it.

ホテルへ帰る途中、許留山という有名なマンゴープリン店でマンゴープリンを買ってきて部屋で食べました。

娘おすすめのマンゴープリンでした。

１つ２５香港ドル（約３７０円）でした。

とても大きいので、夫とシェアして食べました。
