パキスタンの結婚式�A

〜60歳からの英語でおしゃべり日記〜

We arrived at Islamabad airport Pakistan on time.
私たちは時間通り、パキスタンのイスラマバードの空港に着きました。
Ms.T's elder brother called for us to the airport in the morning.
Ｔさんのお兄さんが、その朝に空港まで私たちを迎えに来てくれました。
To my surprise, there were a real key and another 2 keys for brake and accelerator in the car.
驚いたことに、車には本当のキーの他に、ブレーキとアクセル用の２つのキーがありました。
Most Pakistan cars are used car from Japan.
ほとんどのパキスタンの車は日本からの中古車です。
Anyway we arrived Ms.T's house.
とりあえず、私たちはＴさんの家に到着しました。
It was a two-story house for rent including basement.
その家は地下室を含む２階建ての貸家でした。
The first floor was used T's family, the second floor was used owner of the house, and the　basement floor was used other family.
１階はＴさん家族、２階は大家さん、そして地下は他の家族が使っていました。
But luckily, the owner went to Britain, so we could use the second floor because of a kind offer.
でも幸いなことに大家さんはイギリスに行っていてその好意ある申し出により私たちは２階を使うことが出来たのでした。
What a kind orner !
何て親切な大家さんでしょうか！
I think they are reliable each other.
彼らはお互いに信頼できているのだと思います。
I can't do this in Japan.
日本ではそんなことは考えられません。
On the second floor, there were 2 bed rooms and 1 bathroom including toilet.
２階には、２つの寝室と１つのトイレを含むお風呂がありました。
It was cold in winter in Islamabad because of the north of Pakistan.
イスラマバードはパキスタンの北の方なので、冬は寒かったです。
There was a gas heater in our room like one at my house in Kanazawa.
私たちの部屋には、金沢の私の家の様に、ガスストーブがありました。
But we couldn't turn on the heater without "my dear match".
でも、"なつかしいマッチ"がなくてはストーブをつけられませんでした。
It had been a long time since I used a match, so I was a bit happy.
長い間、マッチを使っていませんでしたから、私はちょっとうれしかったんです。
But it was scary because too far between exit of gas and matchstick.
でもガスの出口とマッチ棒が遠すぎるので、こわかったのでした。
I could smell a gas leak, and after that "Bom !"
ガスもれの臭いがして、その後、”ボン！”
I had to think a solution.
私は解決法を考えなければなりませんでした。
So I tried to make long matchstick by hair-pin.
それで私はヘアピンで長いマッチ棒を作ってみました。
I made it.
それはうまくいきました。
We had to devise in Pakistan, but in Japan our life is too useful, isn't it?
パキスタンでは工夫しなければなりませんでしたが、日本では私たちの生活は便利すぎますよね？
Ms.T's house is located in the north town of Islamabad.
Ｔさんの家はイスラマバードの北の町にあります。
There were 6 times sckeduled blackouts a day.
1日に６回の計画停電がありました。
�@from 0:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.　 �Afrom 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. �Bfrom 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. �Cfrom 0:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. �Dfrom 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. �Efrom 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
�@午前０時から１時まで　�A午前４時から５時まで　�B午前８時から９時まで �C午後０時から１時まで　�D午後４時から５時まで　�E午後８時から９時まで　　　　でした。
That's why , we had to take a shower before it gets dark.
だから私たちは暗くなる前にシャワーをしなくてはなりませんでした。
That was no problem.
それは問題ありませんでした。
Actually I think that we can endure the sckeduled blackouts in Japan, too.
本当は日本でも、私たちは計画停電を我慢できると思いました。
Because we get used it quickly.
なぜならば、私たちはすぐにそれに慣れるからです。
In Pakistan , electricity is almost made from waterpower station.
パキスタンでは電気はほとんど水力発電で作られています。
During winter, it doesn't rain at all.
冬の間は、全く雨が降りません。
not〜 at all 全く〜ない
We visited there in winter, so we couldn't use lots of water, too.
私たちは冬に行きましたから、たくさんの水も使えませんでした。
We should save water and electricity in Pakistan and Japan , anyway.
私たちはパキスタンでも日本でも、水や電気を節約すべきですよね。
To be honest, I had a well-balanced mind in Pakistan.
正直いって、パキスタンで私の心は安定していました。
If I had not visited Pakistan, I wouldn't have experienced sckeduled blackouts.
もし私がパキスタンに行かなかったら、計画停電を経験することもなかったでしょう。
