Thank you for pointing out my mistakes last lesson. I learned some words.
この間のレッスンでは私の間違いを指摘していただいてありがとうございました。 いくつかの言葉を勉強しました。
When you said "I went to H-University 　　and I did my degree,"I was confused. I didn't know that degree means "Gakui" in Japanese. Because I thought degree means "do" in Japanese 　　say 30 degrees, sanjudo in Japanese.
●カンマとカンマで囲われている　say　は「例えば」の意味になることが多い
先生が「私はH大学で学位を取得しました。」と言った時に、 　　私は頭が混乱しました。 私はディグリーが日本語で「学位」を意味するとは知りませんでした。 ディグリーは日本語で「度」、例えば３０度というような意味だと思ったからです。
And when you taught me that online is one word, 　　the scales fell from my eyes.
それとオンラインがひとつの単語だと聞いた時、目からうろこでした。

Well……I think because I was excited, 　　the hotel bed was different from my home bed, 　　and ……

I got up at 7 o'clock with a lack of sleep, 　　I went to the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast.
私は寝不足で７時に起きて、 　　ホテル内のレストランに朝食を食べに行きました。
My favorite dish in the breakfast buffet was 　　lentil beans curry called 　　"Parippu curry" in Sinhalese, 　　"Dal curry" in Hindi.
●Parippu 　パリップ
朝食バイキングで私の一番好きだった食べ物は 　　シンハラ語で”パリップカリー”、ヒンディー語で”ダルカリー”という 　　レンズ豆のカレーでした。

The feature of Parippu is using Maldive fish 　　like dried bonito in Japan called katuobushi in Japanese 　　and coconut milk.

It's one of the favorite folk clothes in the world.

My daughter presented the Salwar Kameez to me, 　　so I attended the wedding party with them.

But, but in Japan, there is no opotunity opportunity 　　to wear them, 　　it was a waste of money, I think.

So, I prefer light curry to heavy curry.

In Pakistan, I threw up.
パキスタンで私は吐きました。
The last day, I lay laid（?） in the bed.

When we went to the airport in Pakistan, 　　an airport staff member 　　with a wheelchair came to me, 　　I got on the wheelchair.

And there was an another root route(special root route) 　　to airplane for wheelchairs.
そして車いすのための飛行機への別のルート（特別のルート）があったんです。
Root means root of a tree.
Root　は木の根っこという意味ですね。
Quite different (haha). It was a slope, no steps.
全く違う意味になりますね（笑）。 そのルートは階段ではなく、スロープでした。
I was a bit glad to go through the special root route.
私はその特別のルートを通って、ちょっとうれしかったんです。

No, no, I ate curry at my daughter's friend's house 　　and the wedding. 　　(I misunderstood Sri Lanka for Pakistan.)

The wedding was held for 3 days.

My dad used to work in Toyama, 　　his boss is was Indian, 　　my dad was invited to his daughter's wedding.

It was 1 week, many many events, 　　dancing and ……
その結婚式は１週間あって、たくさんのイベント、ダンスや……。
But my brother was not happy, 　　because 1 week no meat only vegetarian food 　　because my brother loves meat.
でも私の弟は幸せではありませんでした。 　なぜならば弟は肉が大好きなのに、１週間肉なしの野菜だけの食べ物でしたから。

No, but in India when they have a wedding, 　　for 2 weeks, not eat meat traditionally. Only beans and naan……

It was my first experience to attend Islamic style wedding.
イスラム式の結婚式に出席するのは初めての経験でした。

I do have Muslim friends, 　　but I came to Japan when I was nineteen. 　　my friends got married, 　　but I couldn't go to the wedding, 　　so I've never experienced it.
私にはイスラム教徒の友達がいることはいるんですが、 　　私が１９歳の時に日本に来たので、 　　友達はその後結婚しましたが、 　　私は結婚式に行くことができなかったので、経験したことがないんですよ。
I ate various parippu at some breakfast buffet 　　while staying in Sri Lanka, 　　I like the parippu in Camelot Beach Hotel 　　in Negombo the best.

I stayed in a fancy hotel named 　　"Galle Face Hotel" in Colombo, 　　but the parippu in Camelot Beach Hotel 　　was more tasty. I think meals of fancy hotels is are not always tasty.
コロンボでは”ゴールフェイス”という高級ホテルに泊まりましたが、 　　キャメロットビーチホテルの方がずっと美味しかったです。 高級ホテルの食事が必ずしも美味しいわけではないと思います。

Major industry in Negombo is fishing.
ニゴンボの主要産業は漁業です。
There are some fishing ports that have been used 　　since Portuguese colonial era and Dutch colonial era.
ポルトガルの植民地時代やオランダの植民地時代から使用されている漁港が 　　今も存在します。
There are some Catholic fishing villages and 　　Buddhist fishing villages in Sri Lanka.
スリランカには、カトリック教徒漁村と仏教徒漁村が存在します。
Negombo is a Catholic fishing village, 　　so there were some Catholic churches, 　　Statues of the Madonna and Statues of the Christ, 　　even in the fish auction place.
ニゴンボはカトリック教徒漁村ですから、 　　いくつかのカトリック教会があり、 　　魚のセリ場にさえ聖母像やキリスト像がありました。
Besides, to my surprise, the painting of Jesus Christ 　　was drawn inside the fishing boat. In Japan, the painting of Buddha was not drawn.
その上、驚いたことに、漁船の内側にもイエスキリストの絵が描かれていました。 日本の漁船には仏陀の絵は描かれていません。
It's a common picture in Sri Lanka.

What kind of customs do fishermen have in Japan ?

Well…they pray to Shinto shelf in the room 　　before fishing, maybe…

In Sri Lanka,even in cars, people have pictures of 　　Mother Mary and Jesus Christ in that,

Are there christian paintings in your car in Lapan ?

No, no. When I was younger, 　　my mom had the picture of Jesus Christ in Scala.

But after I came to high school, my belief went down.

But I refused.  So, he taught showed me the bus stop.

Sorry, I was off the topic, let's get back to Negombo. That day was Sunday, 　　so lots of people gathered in the Catholic Mass.
すみません、話が脱線してしまいました、ニゴンボの話に戻りましょう。 その日は日曜日でしたから、カトリック教会のミサに大勢の人が集まっていました。
It was impressive 　　that a man bended his knee and prayed hard 　 outside of the church.
一人の男性が教会の外でひざまずいて 　　一生懸命にお祈りしていたのが印象的でした。
Wow, It's surprising.
へ〜え、これは驚きました。
Fishing holiday of Catholic is Sunday 　　that is the Sabbath Day.
●Sabbath　（サバス）　　安息日
カトリック教徒漁民の休漁日は安息日の日曜日です。
But the more you go south from Negombo, 　　the more there are Buddhist fishermen.
しかし、ニゴンボから南下するに従って、仏教徒漁民が多くなっていきます。
Fishing holiday of Buddhist fishermen is 　　Poya Day(Full moon day).
仏教徒漁民の休漁日はポヤーデー（満月の日）です。
According to the book that I read 　　before the trip to Sri Lanka, 　　there is a jinx 　　"When fishermen meet a monk 　　　on their way, they can't catch fishes." 　　so they go back home and go again Because monk is non-production person. I think it's a symbolic jinx.
スリランカ旅行の前に読んだ本によると、 　　仏教徒漁村では、「漁師が途中でお坊さん（生産しない人）に 　　出合うと、不漁になる」というジンクスがあるので、 　　帰宅してもう１度出直すそうです。 なぜならば、お坊さんは生産しない人だからです。 これは象徴的なジンクスだと思います。

I visited the fishing port of Negombo for to study.
ニゴンボの漁港を見学しました。
Although it was Sunday (Sabbath Day)?, 　　some fishermen cleaned fishes on the beach.
その日は日曜日で安息日だったのに、海岸で漁師さんたちが魚をさばいていました。
I thought they were Buddhist?, not Catholic?.
私はこの人たちはカトリック教徒ではなく、仏教徒漁民なのかなと思いました。
Actually I wanted to ask them 　　that they were Catholic or Buddhist, 　　but I couldn't do it because I was embarrassed.
本当は彼らがカトリック教徒漁民なのか、仏教徒漁民なのかを 　　質問したかったのですが、気恥ずかしくてできませんでした。
First, Sri Lanka was colonized 　　by Portugal, Catholic country, in 1505.
まず、スリランカはカトリック国ポルトガルによって、 　　１５０５年に植民地化されました。
Before Christianity came from Europe, 　　religion and race were the same in Sri Lanka.
キリスト教がヨーロッパから入ってくる以前は、 　　スリランカでは宗教と民族は同じでした。
Sinhalese were Buddhist and Tamil were Hindu.

Netherlands made Catholic change to Protestant.
オランダはカトリック教徒をプロテスタントへ改宗させました。
It was terrible that they made them change the religion 　　one after another, wasn't it ?
次から次へと宗教を替えさせるとは酷いですよね？

Then, Sri Lanka was a British colony from 1796.
それから、１７９６年からはイギリスの植民地でした。
Britain recognized freedom of religion, 　　so Catholic 　　who had changed to Protestant temporarily, 　　backed to Catholic again.
イギリスは宗教の自由を認めたので、一時的にプロテスタントに改宗していた 　　カトリック教徒は再びカトリックに戻りました。
After looking at the fishing port in Negombo, 　　I asked the driver, 　　"Could you take me to the Canal 　　　　in the central Negombo?"
ニゴンボの漁港を見た後、ドライバーに 　　「ニゴンボ中心部のカナール（運河）に連れて行って下さい。」と言いました。
But he didn't understand it, 　　so I tried to say another words, say, Manmade river, 　　Unnatural river, but he didn't understand it.
ところが、わかってもらえず、他の言葉ーマンメイドリバーとか 　　アンナチュラルリバーとかで言ってみましたが、通じませんでした。
Then, the driver made an international call 　　to his brother-in-law lived in Japan 　　and asked, 　　"What is the meaning of "Unga" in Japanese."
すると、ドライバーは日本の義理の兄（妻の兄）に国際電話をかけて 　　日本語で運河はどんな意味なのかを聞きました。
I thought he didn't have to do that……. International telephone is expensive, 　　but now Line or Skype phone is free.
わざわざそんなことまでしなくてもよかったのに……と私は思いました。 国際電話は高いです、でも今はラインやスカイプ電話は無料ですね。
Anyway, thanks to him, I saw the canal.
とにかく彼のおかげで、私はその運河を見ました。
The canal was for transportation of spice 　　when Sri Lanka was Dutch colony, 　　but now it's for fishermen go out to sea 　　and for transportation of living supplies.
その運河はスリランカがオランダの植民地だった時に、香辛料の輸送のために 　　作られた運河でしたが、現在は漁師が海に出るためや生活物資を 　　運ぶために使われています。
When I went to the beach in Negombo in the evening, 　　many local people soaked in the sea water 　　with their clothes, not swimming. A Muslim woman soaked in the sea water 　　with her black clothes.
夕方、ニゴンボのビーチに行ったら、たくさんの地元の人たちが 　　泳いでいるわけではなく、服のまま海の水に浸かっていました。 ムスリム（イスラム教徒）の女性は、 　　黒い服のまま海につかっていました。
Oh, it's very crowded.
とても混んでいますね。
An old man enjoyed the playing in the sea with his family, 　　I thought it was a peaceful scene 　　that I had never seen in Japan.
一人のおじいちゃんが家族と一緒に海遊びを楽しんでいましたが、 　　日本では見たことのない平和な光景だと思いました。
I took a video of the scene, 　　I felt relieved to watch the video after returning home.
カメラでその光景を動画で撮ってきましたが、 　　家に帰ってきてその動画を見るとほっとしました。
There were not some famous sightseeing spots in Negombo, 　　but I think it's a nice town 　　because we can see the daily life of the people.
ニゴンボには有名な観光スポットがあるわけではありませんでしたが、 　　人々の日常生活を見ることができる、とてもいい町だと思います。
