【夏目漱石もロンドン塔を訪れていた】～６０歳からのイギリス旅～

(1)My husband had a good rest the day before, so he recovered from jet lag.

夫は前日、一日、ゆっくり休養したので、時差ボケが治りました。

娘は私に「早起きは三文の徳」と早く出発することを薦めました。

直訳は「早起きの鳥はより多くの虫をつかまえる」で早起きは三文の得の決まり文句

(3)I'm used to getting up early in the morning, it was no problem.

私は早起きには慣れているので、問題ありませんでした。

(4)We had a hotel breakfast at 7:30, and left the hotel at 8:30.

私達は７時半にホテルの朝食をとり、８時半にホテルを出発しました。

チケットを買うとき、私は料金表に”concession"という文字を見つけました。

日本でも、侍は給料を米でもらっていましたね。

She is a only woman in the Beef Eater.

These are "Tawara" packed with rice.

具足は古い日本語でよろいを意味します。

今まで意味も知らずに使っていましたが、

よろい（殻）をつけたまま煮た海老と

いうことだったんですね。

漱石の文章のおかげでわかりました。

●語尾が　ed　の形容詞　と　ing　の形容詞の違いについて

　　　実はこれまで、とても混乱していたことなので、説明してもらってよかったです。

　　　　「ed」の形容詞―人の感情、状態を説明する時に使う

　　　　「ing」の形容詞―物事を説明する時に使う

　例えば

　①interested　と　interesting

　　　　〇interested 　は　「be interested in ～」　　

　　　　　　　　「～に興味を持っている」　の形で普通は使う

　　　　　　　　The child is interested in collecting stamps.

　　　　　　　　（その子供は切手を集めることに興味がある。）
