I have never taken mobile phone for travel abroad before.
私はこれまで海外旅行に携帯電話を持っていったことがありませんでした。
For example, 　　in Sri Lanka I made an international call 　　at town's telephone shop 　　or international public phone, 　　it was interesting.
例えばスリランカでは町の電話屋や国際電話をかけられる公衆電話で、 　　日本に国際電話しましたが、とても面白かったんです。
But this time, my daughter living in India 　　recommended taking a smartphone 　　for trip to India.
でも今回インド旅行にはスマホを持っていくことを 　　インド在住の娘からすすめられました。
So I got a used smartphone from my daughter this spring.
それで今年の春に、娘がインドで使っていた 　　スマホのお下がりをもらいました。
There are frequency problems 　　depending on the area in India, 　　so we sometimes can't use a Japanese smartphone 　　in India.
インドは地方によって周波数の問題があって、 　　日本で買ったスマホがインドで使えないこともあるからです。
I had used flip phone for a long time, 　　it was tough until I got used to my smartphone. Yeah ! I used "tough" you taught me for the first time !
私は長い間ガラ携帯を使ってきたので 　　スマホに慣れるまで苦労しました。 やった〜！　　 初めて先生が教えてくれた”タフ”を使いました〜！

Actually I thought I stop going to India 　　for the first 3 days of using ii.
●stop 　と　quit　の違いについて 　　　stop　　　 　　　　　継続してきたことをやめはするが、また再開する可能性が残っている。 　　　　　ただいま、進行中の物事を止める。 　　　　　My husband stopped smoking because his doctor told him to do so. 　　　　　　私の夫は医者に言われたので、煙草を吸うのをやめた。 　　　quit 　　　　　継続してきたことを完全にやめる、再開する見込みが全くない 　　　　　My husband quit smoking.
実はスマホを使いだして最初の３日間は、 　　インドに行くのをやめようとまで思いました。

The worst point of smartphone for me is 　　that I don't know what the icon is, unlike P.C. It's the most stressfull thing.
●hover　　　カーソルをある場所に置いて、クリックしない状態のこと 　　　　hover　はもともとは、鳥が羽ばたいたり、ヘリコプターがプロベラを回して 　　　　空中で停止すること（ホバリング）を指す。 　　　　このことから、「さまよう、うろつく」という意味になり、 　　　　そこから、コンピュータ用語として、 　　　　カーソルをコンピュータの画面のある場所に置き、 　　　　クリックしない状態も指すようになった。 　　　　hoverのかわりに、place （動詞）　も同じ意味になる。
スマホの一番いやな点は、パソコンと違って、 　　そのボタンが何のボタンかがわからないところです。 それが一番のストレスなんです。
But I became able to use my smartphone a little, 　　I want to use it in India as much as possible.
でも、何とかある程度使えるようになったので、 　　インドで最大限にスマホを活用したいと思っています。

There are 4 ways to connect a smartphone 　　to the internet in a foreign country.
外国でスマホにインターネットを接続するためには 　　４つの方法がありますよね。
The first way is using international roaming service 　　of mobilephone company. It's the most expensive.
１つめは、携帯電話会社の国際ローミングサービスを使うことです。 この方法は、一番値段が高くつきます。
Yes.
はい、そうですね。
The second way is renting overseas WiFi router, 　　but we can call only some application like LINE.
２つめは、海外用ワイファイルーターをレンタルすることですが、 　　ラインなどでのアプリでしか電話できません。
The third way is buying overseas prepaid SIM（シム） card. It's the most cheap cheapest. If we choose plan with voice calls, 　　 we are relieved to call. But SIM card is tiny, so we have to be careful 　　not to lose it, besides we have to set it in English.
３つめは、海外用プリベイド式シムカードを買うことです。 この方法は値段が安いです。 音声通話つきプランなら、電話もかけられるので安心です。 でもシムカードはとても小さいので、紛失しないように 　　気をつけなければなりませんし、海外用シムカードを 　　英語で設定しなければなりません。
And the forth way is using free WiFi. It's free but it's risky. Especially WiFi that anyone can use without log-in 　　is useful but very risky. WiFi with key mark is safe because 　　it has security measures.
そして４つめは、フリーワイファイを利用することです。 この方法は、無料ですが、危険を伴います。 特にログインが不要な、誰でも使えるワイファイは便利ですが危険です。 鍵マークのついたワイファイは、セキュリティー対策がしてあるので、安全です。

I'm going to buy a prepaid SIM card in India.
私はインドでプリベイド式のシムカードを買うつもりです。
Then I bought a mobile battery 　　because I often use my smartphone for Google Map.
それから、グーグルマップでスマホを使うことが多いので、 　　モバイルバッテリーを買いました。
By the way, 　　my husband won't take his mobilephone for the trip.
ところで、今回のインド旅行で、私の夫はインドに電話を持っていきません。
He uses a flip phone, 　　but it's an easy flip phone, so he can't use it overseas.
彼はガラ携帯を使っているのですが、 　　簡単携帯なので海外で使うことができません。
A few years ago, 　　he changed to ordinally mobile phone, 　　but he returned to easy flip phone again.
数年前に普通の携帯に替えたことがあるんですが、 　　また簡単携帯に戻しました。

His mobile phone comes 　　with just 5 minutes of free calls, 　　so he uses my smartphone for call at home.
彼の携帯は５分間の無料通話しかできない契約なので、 　　家で電話する時は私のスマホを使っています。
A small incident happened 2 months ago. My husband called the dentist to make an appointment.
２か月前に、ある出来事がありました。 夫は歯医者さんに予約の電話をかけました。
He ended a phone call, then he told me 　　about bad things of the dentist reception woman.
電話を切ってから、夫はその歯医者さんの受付の女性の悪口を 　　私に言いました。
She is direct, so he feels strict to her.
その女性は物事をはっきり言う性格で、それが夫にはきつく感じられるんです。
For example, 　　when he makes an appointment on the phone, 　　she always says, 　　"Could you write the appointment date and time 　　on your patient card soon not to forget."
例えば、電話で予約したら、彼女はいつも 　　「忘れないようにすぐに診察券に月日と時間を書いておいてくださいね。」 　　と言います。
I guess that some patients break an appointment 　　because they don't write appointment date and time 　　on their patient cards, especially old people.
私が想像するには、診察券に予約日と時間を 　　書かない患者さんが何人かいて、予約をすっぱかすんだと思います 　　特に高齢者が。
I can't say for others. Recently I sometimes become memory blackout.

それで電話が終った後、「あの女は言い方がきつい。意地悪だ。 　　根性（こんじょ）悪！」と悪口を言いました。
Do you know Kanazawa dialect 　　"Konjo-waru", sensei ?
「根性悪」という金沢弁を知っていますか、先生？

Konjo-waru means mean person.
”根性悪”というのは意地悪な人の意味です。

Konjo-warui is adjective, 　　Konjo-waru is noun.
根性悪いは形容詞で、根性悪は名詞ですね。

I heard the slander, 　　then I just saw my smartphone, 　　Oh, my goodness ! He didn't hang up the smartphone !
その悪口を聞いてから、ふとスマホを見ると、 何ということでしょう！　 夫はスマホの電話を切っていませんでした！

I hurried to hang up the phone.
●あわてて〜する　　　hurry to do
私はあわてて電話を切りました。
At that time, I was sure 　　that the reception woman heard his slander.
私はその時、受付の女性はその悪口を聞いていたと 　　確信しました。
Unlike flip phone, we have to hang up smartphone 　　by tapping the end call button.
ガラ携帯と違ってスマホは通話終了ボタンをタップしなければなりません。
I always say to him, "Hang up the phone properly." 　　but he sometimes doesn't do it. Because smartphone changes to another screen often 　　during the calling.
私は夫にいつも「ちゃんと電話を切って」と言っていますが、 　　切ってないことがたびたびあります。 なぜなら、スマホは通話中、別の画面になることがよくあるからです。

Fortunately my smartphone is unlimited calling plan, 　　so it was no problem, 　　but I set it to hang up by turning off the power button. Because he can do it without any problem.

Actually,when old people change 　　from flip phone to smartphone, 　　forgetting to hang up the phone is biggest problem.

For example, 　　some old people have to pay high telephone charges. 50000 yen……
高い電話料を払わなければならなくなった高齢者もいます。 ５万円とか……
That's why smartphone is difficult for my husband.
そういうわけで、夫にはスマホはむずかしいんですよ。
I have print out the necessary information 　　with Word before, but this time 　　I'm going to save them in the smartphone.
私はこれまで、海外旅行で必要な情報はワードにまとめて、 　　プリントアウトして持っていきましたが、 　　今回はスマホに保存していこうと思います。

My smartphone is Android 　　that doesn't have Word installed unike iPhone.
私のスマホはアンドロイドなので、アイフォーンと違って、 　　ワードが入っていないのです。
I tried to install Word application in it, 　　but I stopped doing 　　because I had to input my credit card number.
ワードアプリを入れてみようと試してみましたが、 　　クレジット番号を入れなくてはならなかったのでやめました。
So I made possible to see the Word 　　by drive of Google application.
それで作ったワードをグーグルアプリのドライブで見れるようにしました。
Yes, very good.
はい、とてもいいですね。
Then, I looked up the necessary maps on Google Map, 　　downloaded them and saved them offline.
そして、必要な地図をグーグルマップで調べて、オフラインで保存しました。
Smartphone has GPS, 　　so if we can't use internet, 　　we can see the current location on the offline map.
スマホにはGPSがついているので、もしインターネットが使えなくても 　　オフライン地図で現在地を見ることができます。
But I'm going to print out and take 　　airplane e-tickets,hotel reservation confirmation 　　and so on.
でも飛行機のeチケットとホテルの予約確認書などは 　　印刷して持って行くつもりです。
When we went to Tokyo in May this year, 　　I tried to show the reservation confirmation 　　by my smartphone but it took time, 　　so I show it by the printed reservation slip after all.
今年の５月に東京に行った時に、はとバスの予約確認書を 　　スマホで見せようとしたら、時間がかかって 　　結局、印刷していった紙の予約確認書を見せました。
At that time I thought Analog is more reliable.
私はその時、アナログの方が確実だと思いました。
By the way, In India, 　　we can use taxi booking application called Ola like Uber. Ola is used in India and Australia.
ところでインドではウーバーのような配車アプリの”オラ”を使うことができます。 オラはインドとオーストラリアで使われています。
I have never used the application before, 　　so I want my daughter to teach me 　　and use it in Mumbai.
私は配車アプリを使ったことがないので、 　　ムンバイで娘に教えてもらって使ってみたいです。
I want to try price negotiation 　　of auto-rickshaw or taxi, 　　but it must be tired, 　　I sometimes want to use Ola.
オートリキシャやタクシーの値段交渉はやってみたいですが、 　　疲れるに違いないので、時にはオーラを使いたいです。
I was not going to take camera 　　because I can take pictures with my smartphone, 　　but I'm going to take a small camera 　　because smartphones are prohibited in Night Taji
スマホは写真も撮れるので、私はカメラを持っていかない 　　つもりでしたが、ナイトタージではスマホが禁止なので、 　　私は小さなカメラも持っていくことにしました。
Also I bought a Skype prepaid card with 600 yen 　　because when our credit card are stolen. 　　and we get sick, 　　we might have to international call 　　of credit company or insurance company..
また、クレジットカードが盗難にあったり、 　　病気になった時に、クレジット会社や保険会社に 　　国際電話をかけなければならないかもしれないので、 　　私は６００円のスカイププリベイドカードを買いました。
We can call any country in the world, 　　the call charge is 2.5 yen per 1 minute.
世界中どこの国に電話しても通話料金は１分間２，５円です。
We can call our family on LINE appurication, 　　but it costs lots of money to call landline 　　of credit company or insurance company in Japan.
家族とはラインで電話できるのですが、 　　日本のクレジット会社や保険会社の固定電話にかけるのは 　　とてもお金がかかりますから。
The other day, 　　I was scolded by my daughter in India, 　　"Don't look up only sloppy online information, 　　you should look up proper official site."
●いい加減な　　sloppy 　　　　　　ちゃんとした　　proper
先日、インドの娘に「いい加減なネット情報ばかり見てないで、 　　ちゃんとした公式サイトを見るべき！」と叱られました。
So when I looked up the official cite of 　　the Taj Mahal right away, 　　I knew that we can buy Night Taji tickets online 　　from 1 week before fullmoon 　　without standing in line. 　　https://www.tajmahal.gov.in/
それですぐにタージマハールの公式サイトを見てみたら、 　　ナイトタージのチケットが行列に並ばなくても 　　オンラインで満月の１週間前から買えるようになったことがわかりました。
I looked up the website in Japanese by translation function, 　　but we have to buy pre-ordered tickets in English.
私は日本語翻訳機能を使って、日本語でそのサイトを見たんですが、 　　チケットを予約購入する時には、英語でしなければなりません。
I'm not sure I can do it well, 　　anyway I felt relieved that 　　I can buy them in Japan before leaving to India.
うまくできるかどうかわかりませんが、 　　とりあえずインドに出発する前に日本で買えるので安心しました。
But I have to do it at leaving day morning of trip to India.
でもインドに出発する日の朝に、それをしなければならないんですよ。
One week before full moon.
満月の１週間前ですからね。
My daughter is right.
娘の言っていることは正しかったです。
By the way, 　　I had memorized Hindi numbers from 1 to 10 　　and from 100 to 1000, 　　but I wanted to memorize more, 　　so I looked up Hindi numbers from 20 to 90.
ところで、私は以前１から１０までと１００から１０００までの 　　ヒンディー語の数字を覚えましたが、もっと覚えたかったので 　　２０から９０までの数字を調べました。
Because I think 10〜90 are ofen used for money.
１０から９０はよくお金に使われると思いますから。
Then, I realized that 7 and 60 are the same pronounciation, 　　I thought it was strange, 　　so I looked up these Hindi spelling, 　　then I knew that 　　7 is pronounced sert, but 60 is pronounced sath.
すると、７と６０が同じ発音だということに気づいて、それは変だなと思い、 　　それらのヒンディー語の綴りを調べたら、７はサートゥ、６０はサースと 　　発音されることがわかりました。
７　　सात	６０　　 साठ
I couldn't hear the difference. I'm Japanese after all.
私はその違いを聞き分けられませんでした。 私はやっぱり日本人ですね。
